Dr. David Cimas Hernandez has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, specializing in Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery, with areas of interest in sports medicine, cellular treatments and regeneration therapies.
After training as an intern at Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid, he joined the multidisciplinary team for infectious diseases of the musculoskeletal system, having specialized in the fields of reconstructive hip, knee and foot surgery. He also works in other areas such as arthroscopic hip and knee surgery and advanced foot and ankle surgery.
Arthroscopic surgery has been a major part of his professional career, progressively becoming his main focus of attention. As he says, “It is a highly attractive super specialty which involves a high level of technical demand and direct contact with advances in biological therapy for the repair of cartilage lesions".
His career currently focuses primarily on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery and biological therapies for cartilage repair. He is a member of the Spanish Orthopaedic Surgery Society and the Spanish Arthroscopy Association.
His professional background gives him the experience necessary to deal with complex cases through angular corrections in the hip, knee and ankle, and treatment of cartilage injuries by means of mesenchymal cells and growth factors or prosthetic replacement.
