About me

Doctor Pedro Pérez Segura is a graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Specialist in Medical Oncology.

He is a point of reference in the field of hereditary caner at a national and international level. Trained in the Molecular Oncology Laboratory of the Medical Oncology Service of the San Carlos University Hospital Clinic, he was a pioneer in establishing the Unit for Genetic Counselling on Cancer. Also notable is his work at the Clinical Genetics Service of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, in 2001, which complemented his training in this field.

He is also an EMEA (European Medicines Agency) and Spanish Medication Agency expert for the evaluation of new oncology pharmaceuticals, and a coordinator of the Genetic Counselling Committee.

As a member of the SEOM (Spanish Medical Oncology Association), he is one of the founders of the Hereditary Cancer Department.

In the field of research, he was participated in over 200 clinical trials, and has published multiple works in national and international journals and books in the field of medical oncology, specifically on Genetic Counselling.

He also carries out teaching work, collaborating on Doctorate courses, and is an Associate professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Master’s Degree in Management and Administration of Health Services of the University of Alcalá de Henares.
